Based in sunny San Diego (aka – a flip flop’s paradise), and founded in 2014, Flip Flop Design Studio approached Kameleon in October 2016 wanting to craft a digital campaign leading into the Christmas season.
Constructed originally as a brick and mortar institution, and primarily established as a kiosk mall vendor, Flip Flop Design Studios sought an opportunity to transition to an e-commerce platform. The opportunity, and the reach, were much greater, as San Diego already has well-established flip flop brands dominating the market.
The obstacles were clear, we needed to take a brand based entirely on word-of-mouth, and give it a strong ecommerce platform, with the branding and visual representations to back it up.
So we got to work…
And the first order of business was simply, we needed to give this brand an identity. Ecommerce is a visual experience, and with a never-before-seen product, a photo-shoot to curate the look of Flip Flop Design Studio was planned, produced and executed.
Needing only one day, and less than a week for pre-production, we were off to the races planning a three-location shoot, that required capturing a blend of product and lifestyle shots.
Meticulously, Briana was able to wrap her head around a shot list that would achieve the correct look. Some of our favorites are represented here!
Once the excitement of the video shoot was over, then it became a matter of putting this new look in a position to succeed. Using an integrated SEO and PPC approach, we quickly put forth the effort to optimize the new eCommerce site, and put together a PPC and Paid Social Campaign to promote it!
Before we were able to launch our campaign, like in any successful Digital operation, needing to walk-the-talk (so to speak) was a critical consideration. So, we went through the existing website, and thoughtfully combed the website, providing a detailed audit of the website’s UX, and its impact on audiences. Combined with foundational SEO analysis, Kameleon put the finishing touches on the website before releasing ads to market.
In a short period of time, we were able to significantly increase web traffic, and gain the attention of new consumers throughout the United States.
All-in-all, from beginning to end in this campaign, we needed less than four weeks to plan the shoot, and implements those assets into a digital campaign, just in time to refresh the brand’s image before the holiday season.
